Auschwitz / Birkenau Consentration camps, Poland

From Vienna we drove the whole day to get to Oswiecum, Poland. We spent 3 days going through all the sites. This was really a eye opener, seeing how people had to suffer.

The famous Auschwitz 1 entrance. It says Labour/work makes free. The received their freedom through dead, they worked till they died


The Auschwitz 2 / Birkenau entrance. At this camp all the extermination took place.
The Nazi's destroyed all the gas chambers and ovens before the liberation. Here all the people had to wall into a underground room and undress for their showers
The actual gas chambers where upto 1500 people got gas at a time













Vienna, Austria

We spent 3 nights here, took the bus/tram in for the day and just enjoyed all the old sites.

Spent a few moments enjoying Aussie culture in Europe, we just didn't drink aussie beer









Germany,Berchtesgaden

Went to visit the Eagles Nest in Obersalzberg where Hitler had his holiday house. He received the eagles nest for his 50th birthday.

Had a big storm, and this was the end of our tent as you can see

Can only access the Eagles Nest via a 120m tunnel and the a lift to the top.
